So here it is the return part from my trip to Australia in July 2008.
for people that didn't see the outbound report you can read it here
So before I start with return part here are some highlights from SYD
Sydney view from the water on-board a ferry
sea plane getting airborne
spotting from my hotel room
on-board the james craig
a glass of Australian sparkling wine in the executive club lounge Swissotel
So Sydney was great 9 nights was way to short, so a good excuse to get back to Australia soon! And now for the flight part back

At 1100 we checked out of our hotel and headed to the nearest train station to take the train to the airport. I bought two surfboards in Sydney so it was quite a challenge to walk with the surfbag and our other luggage but about 40 minutes later we arrived at the Airport and after a short visit to the tax refund counter we headed to the Singapore check-in counter where there wasn't any staff yet. About 20 minutes later we could check in and due to are Business class seats got a fastpass for security which was quite useful due to extreme amount of world youth day people also flying at this time. Just after security we saw the A380 getting ready to connect to our gate and I made the following picture.
After some short time looking around we headed to the Singapore lounge with the elevator and asked if there a extra window seat available for my father( 30 hours earlier I already checked in but there was only one window seat available.) The woman from the lounge said that the flight was completely full and that the change of getting a extra window seat where very small. So there was nothing to do about it and we entered the lounge, which at this time was still very empty and had a great view over the airport. I had some food and drinks, made some pictures and read a book about the Sydney airport.
here is a selection of some pictures from the lounge
So 10 minutes before scheduled boarding time we headed to the gate and could enter the plane straight away. So 10 minutes later I fully settled down, with some magazines and a glass of champagne! It was busy at the time we left the gate and had to wait for about 15 to 20 minutes before taking of. It also started raining so that wasn't making it better.
just before take off
last picture just after take off.
I have to say that I just realised that I didn't take any pictures after this moment for the a380 part so i'm sorry for that. Both the meals where great but I was surprised by the same selection of movies as on the way to SYD since I've had seen most of the English Hollywood movies already. On decent I tried to make some pictures but didn't succeed in capturing a good one. Like on to way to Syd we head a stopover in Singapore and went true passport control to have a other two days of relaxing in Singapore.
So on the way to the Singapore flyer the second time we passed by a flight simulator location where you could fly a 737-800 simulator. I convinced my father and ended up flying for 1 hour with take of and landings from SIN and AMS and at last flying from Macau to the old Hong Kong airport at night. It was a great experience and well worth the money.
If anybody is interested in how it really looks my session was recorded so I can post that if you would me to do that.
here is a picture of me sitting in the simulator
view from our room at night
So now for the finale part of the trip

The night before flying it looked like the load factor in Business would be light because there where allot of open seats but later on I discovered that almost all seats where occupied. After checking in we headed to the lounge and I took a shower to get some energy which really helped me stay awake. I found the showers in lounge pretty good.
So nothing special after that before boarding the aircraft which after filled up pretty soon. There was one person behind us who lost his boarding pass and baggage labels for the connecting flight and left the plane only to come back 5 minutes later with now result he wasn't happy about the services provided by SQ don't know who made a mistake here but first for me to see this happing. So this last part of the trip started with champagne again and good diner which didn't look that special or nice but tasted quite good.
my main course
After dinner service it was getting really dark outside and not much was going to happen during the next couple of hours so I tried to sleep which worked out pretty well getting about 5 hours of sleep.
One thing that I found really strange where this adverts on the screen that come on all the time when see the flight information or before a movie is this normal on other airlines as well?
After waking up first parts of the sunrise where slowly getting visible
Nothing special about breakfast so no pictures of that, just before landing a spotted this farm ground.
which says: welcome home!
So after landing it was time to say goodbye to SQ overall this where very good flights and I liked the seats on A380 very much. Hope that one day in the future I can fly SQ again
thank you for ready my report and please let me know what I should do or not do in future trip reports.

The simulator is located in a shop called "Flight Experience" within the complex of the Singapore Flyer - the newest tourist attraction in Singapore. Just take a taxi or a direct shuttle bus from selected hotels to the Singapore Flyer at Raffles Avenue. It's located in the 2nd floor of the main complex. It's not a big complex so you can't miss it.
