Ignorance About Glare - What Is It?

Sorry if this has been explained before but what is GLARE? Also, is it an acronym, please?

Glare (developed by Stork Aerospace in the Netherlands) is a particular fibre-aluminum laminate material which is relatively light and has excellent fatigue and impact-resistance qualities. Its name is not an acronym, but rather a shortening of "glass reinforced."

The A380 is using Glare quite extensively, and it has saved around 500kg of weight...

Thanks for that. I wonder if this process was patented or similar whereby Stork gets licence fees for production/use of the material.

Strangely I did some programming for a Stork project in Belgium but I never realised at the time that Stork was involved in aviation as well.

A lot of the fuselage skin panels on the A380 are GLARE.
