Custom officials have seized two million contraband cigarettes at Newcastle International Airport in what is though to be the biggest ever haul at a UK airport.

Officers at NCL grabbed 146 suitcases full of cigarettes after a flight from TFS landed early on Christmas Day. No arrests were made because the cases were not claimed by passengers.

You gotta give the Geordies credit for trying, god bless them, imagine how much that's cost them? Roughly £197,000. Ouch, that's gonna hurt.
