Hey guys!

There was a discussion a while back about an new airline in Brownsville, Texas that was branding itself as Pan American Airways. I think we all agreed that the airline and the airlines website looked a little fishy and unreliable. Well meet the owner.......

http://www.valleycentral.com/news/story.aspx?id=641699

I knew that there was something not right with the airline and/or people running it.

Yes it is. The worst part is that they actually take themselves seriously. If I was starting a new airline I would seriously invest in good advertising and good marketing and get professionals to design a good website. Another thing, if big legacy carriers and low cost carriers have a tough time in the rocky world of the airline industry, whose to say this little start up from brownsville will succeed.

Didn't this guy or someone pretending to be him set up an account here and argue with the people on this forum calling BS on this?

Ironically I have never flown a Delta MD-90 :)

Freedom of Speech!

Oh how I'd love to turn this thread into a website-bashing contest. Like the "Passenger"-link on the HP; The image in the background reads something like ....-"Airlines"

I don't know the history of this reanimation of Pan Am by this guy, but if all steps of persuing him to stop dragging a legendary airline through mud, and it takes child pornography to put him behind bars, then...

Wasn't there an Airliners.netter named Ceilidh or something who claimed to start flying 44 L-1011 Tristars from Prestwick but ended up behind bars after molesting small girls? What is it with fake airline CEO's and pedophilia?

I'm pretty sure Guilford still owns the rights to the Pan-Am name...

BTW, 529PA has been in ACY a couple times recently and is still painted in the Pan-Am scheme.

I started that PanAm thread, but God no, I am not the owner of this silly excuse for a business plan. His last name is Hardwicke, I believe. Don't tell the BRO and HRL fanboys, they still think that PanAm will being flying nonstop 747s from BRO to South America and Europe.

The aircraft on the homepage appears to be a Thomas Cook 757. It looks like someone spent 10 minutes in photoshop changing logos. I wouldn't be surprised if it was stolen from here either.

This appears to be still another corruption or bastardization of the hallowed Pan Am name. The south Texas company apparently doesn't own the rights to the blue ball or the correct Pan American World Airways name.

I grew up in Sharyland, but I've lived in Dallas the past 5 years, but I will be using MFE on Thursday evening to visit home!

Apparently, there is a rumor of a 4th airline starting service to BRO, after American Eagle, CO Connection, and AeroMexico (test flights). Anyone have any clue who it may be? Delta Connection?

Also, the website says the airline intends to use 737-200. Aren't these types banned from US scheduled service?

I don't think so. They simply arent in use because they aren't efficient for the airlines to operate anymore. As long as the aircraft complies with all ADs I believe it can be operated commercially.

Well that's great, you must be very excited to come back down to the RGV and its blistering heat lol. Yea I have heard that as well, about the fourth airline. It may very well be Delta, but I feel that they are kinda focusing on MFE right now, they are new to the RGV and I think they are going to wait before they open up another South Texas destination.

For some reason, on the BRO website they list United as one of the airlines that operates to the airport. What is that about?

Probably having to do with the Continental merger into United. I know the planes that operate into MFE are usually in the new United livery.
