787 BBJ floor space
777 BBJ floor space
Curious... 777-300ER BBJ has the same floor space as the 747-8 BBJ floor space?
Would have thought 747 would be much larger....

Not really...the people buying these planes are all about the interior...thats why most airplanes have boring exteriors. It's more subtle that way, I guess.

Well, duh. I would think a 772LR has less space than a 773ER.

I like that idea, having partial dual level on the aircraft.

I would guess that the dual level design would have to do with the possibility that you don't need the structural aid of a uniform floor with the CFRP barrels?
Just keep in mind guys that thisis just like the standard passenger configuration of any airliner that is offered. No one really uses it. Especially in this case.
One interesting observation though, has anyone noticed that for the 747-8 BBJ layout is strikingly similar to the layout for "Air Force One".

I am sure if you flash enough $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ that you can get it on the 748 as well.

I had the fortunate experience to take a tour of Kingdom Holdings 747-400 while it was being given its semi-annual "warranty work" at Dallas Love Field. Plush does not even begin to describe that airplane. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take any photos of the interior while we were on it.
Lets just say that these "examples" from the Boeing site are nice, take it up about two more notches and you'll have the interior of Kingdom Air's 747-400.............

Very, very few of the operators of these aircraft want to call attention to themselves or their operations; AF-1 being one of the very few exceptions (along with some, but not all, other heads of state). Therefore most of the exteriors will be plain to the extreme.

All the 777s show the same floor area, which is obviously wrong. Seems like they copy/pasted... and forgot to change the numbers

One thing to remember in dreaming about these-the floor plans are just examples. The interiors will be custom made by a third party; Boeing will provide just the airframe with a bare interior. The customer will be able to get anything he wants that will fit into the airframe and not exceed weight limits.

Actually, there is a set weight interior limit. Such is the case when the first BBJ's came out. There are very few BBJ's that can achieve the maximum range of 6,200 nm because most operators have exceeded the recommended interior weight to achieve the max range. Hence the extravagant interior you see on most of these types of aircraft, but lower maximum range for that particular aircraft. The owners can have they most luxurious interiors imaginable, but it's going to cost them range as long as they don't exceed the MTOW, which would be a challenge in it's own right.

Naaah... 747 is ugly. I don't like anything that is moving and has two passenger decks or more (except for speedboats like the one Abramovich owns). Besides, I have a sweet spot for 777: it was the first Boeing airliner I fell in love with the second I saw it for the first time on final at EWR.
How on earth could anyone not LOVE that bird Of course the 777 is on top of my preference list as a passanger and it is on top in looks too, but from a plain beauty side the 747 is simply the queen of the skies

And cost as much as the jet itself in many cases. Which is wild to think about, and to me, makes no sense. There comes a point where it can't truly cost $150 million dollars to outfit the inside of a jet, no matter how extravagant, unless it's all made of gold and diamonds.

*GASP!* ... ... I was going to argue here, but, we're all allowed our own opinions, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? I also don't want to be the one responsible for turning this into a 747 vs 777 thread thingie....
