Interesting to see Gdansk on there. Didn't O'Leary say last year that he didn't know why anyone would want to fly to Gdansk (in rather more colourful language) ???!!!

Quoting Udo (Reply 1): Strange, didn't Michael the Ripper once wonder who wanted to fly to Poland???
No, he was referring to Gdansk. FR already flies to WRO (from STN).

In war and business you need not always state the truth or be completely accurate - indeed, exaggeration can be beneficial.

They let you out of the cage to post that??
Anyway, I think the best thing for FR and low cost service into Hahn would be for DB to build a spur line to HHN allowing fast connections to Frankfurt and the like. It is just not worth the time and cost (yes cost, think of the bus, etc.) to get out there.

Quoting Cornish (Reply 7): More to the point - how on earth do you pronounce it ??
Pronounce it like this : Very nice little Polish airport with very cheap flights, next to very charming nice city, ideal for holiday..... FR is the perfect leisure carrier!

Yes - not a steelworks, coal mine or power station in sight - honest !! The city you never realised that you really wanted to go to.

FRA-RZE-FRA with OK and LO = 2 stops = nearly £600 for 1st Nov, returning 3rd Nov. With FR non-stop HHN-RZE-HNN, it's 27.74 EUR including tax, plus say 20 additional EUR for return bus. So round it up to 48 EUR.
What about FRA-OPO-FRA? £936.80 with IB, or 35.58 EUR on FR for HHN-OPO-HHN, or about 55 EUR including return bus.
What about FRA-GDN-FRA? £627.60 for 2nd Nov/4th Nov non-stop with LO, or 31.67 EUR (2/11 out, 4/11 back) for HHN-GDN-HHN non-stop with FR, or about 52 EUR including return bus.
Fares are the same, or more expensive, on LH's and other airlines' websites.
Bit of a difference, eh? Evidence alone proves that HHN is used by many people - and that is increasing. It might not be for everyone, so it is good that alternatives exist.
