Update On Convair Crash At Cvg 8/13/04

hello all,

i got some news on it.it appears that it was pilot error.the preliminary report states that when the pilot left Memphis he had a wing to wing imbalance.he turned on the cross-feed valve to equal the wings and forgot to turn it off!all the fuel was in the left wing and none in the right.

we got this from air tahoma.

Did'nt he notice the effect on the aircraft controls.

My understanding is that the aircraft would be trying to roll all the time.

he did notice but he misidenified the problem.he just thought he had a engine problem.atleast thats what he told the tower before he landed on the golf course.had the engine that flamed out had lasted about another 30 sec he would have made the runway.i was there that night an i still think about it.the pilot survived but sadly the co-pilot was killed Sad
