Can anyone tell me if AC Executive First service to HKG on the 343 is half decent? I'm going YYZ HKG, would fly AC if it's OK in first, but I'm a little unenthusiastic about the non stop return leg at 15 plus hours. Long time in the air, even in first. I don't think AC 343s have PTVs do they, in First? That would make it alot more bearable. First usually permits a stopover and it might be better to break it up at YVR?
I am grateful for any comments anyone can make, many thanks....

The AC International ExecFirst product is one of the best Business Classes in the sky. The seats are very comfortable, the newly redesigned service is phenomenal and yes, there are PTVs.
AC has many faults, but their premium international service (except on some of the old 763s) is not one of them.

Air Canada definitely offers a personal video system onboard its entire A340 fleet. The majority of the fleet has a 8 channel video system, including a channel devoted to AirShow.
But on two A340s, the Sony Passport system is installed. This system was introduced on Air Canada's A330-300 fleet, and I'm pretty sure that all A340s delivered after the A330 deliveries began came with this new entertainment system. I don't think there are currently any plans to upgrade the whole A340 fleet to have the Sony Passport system. (I could be wrong on both accounts.)
The seat is quite comfortable (I have no complaints), and electronically-adjustable. However, the newer A340s with the Passport entertainment system come equipped with the new A330 ExecutiveFirst seat, which is a little bit more advanced. Yet, from what I've heard, the older ExecutiveFirst seat is a bit more comfortable/cozy than the newer, more high-tech one.
The Hong Kong flights also feature Air Canada's new enhanced ExecutiveFirst meal/amenity service, which is supposed to be quite good.

Thanks very much to both of you, that is really helpful information. I think I'll give AC a try on that super long haul route.
As you can guess I live in Grand cayman but am Canadian, originally from YYZ area. The interesting thing is that a lot of businesspeople here in GCM have been going to HKG from GCM through YYZ on AC, and i had also heard good things about it. It's actually the only way you can do it from GCM with only 1 connection. Every other airline would mean at least 2 US hub changes and thus alot longer travel time. Thx again, cheers,

I have to say they are really good. The seats although not bed are VERY comfortable with great recline. Had one of my best sleeps on a plane ever!
Sure recommended! Entertainment is great too. I flew them YVR-ICN in 2002 July and I think it was the older business class? Not sure what the new one is like.
