I was just looking through some schedules between JFK/EWR and Europe and had some questions.

I noticed that there are only 4 daily flights between FRA-JFK/EWR. This surprised me as I would have thought there would at least 6 or 7 daily flights.

Also, does EI still operate 2 daily JFK-SNN and JFK-DUB flights?

How do people feel the added NYC-AMS flights will do. I believe another thread mentioned that KL/NW were adding a 5th daily flight on the sector.

alot of people usually connect to other flights from FRA, but in the NYC area airports, there are direct flights to destinations all over europe making a connection in FRA unnecesary. Plus they codeshare with everyone everywhere.

At EWR there are three daily flights to FRA, 2 LH and 1 CO.

I think there's more than three at JFK,

LH, DL, SQ are the ones I can think of, so there's atleast 4 daily flights right there.

Don't forget LH also flies daily to JFK / EWR from MUC + 2x LX from ZRH + 1x from GVA. Then Biz Jet service from DUS, MUC and ZRH which makes LH & LX the airline(s) with the most frequent flights into NY airports from Europe.

I just looked at Air France's timetable through Oct. 27 and it looks like none of the frequencies on NYC-CDG have changed. But after that date I wouldn't be surprised to maybe see a frequency (possibly the daylight flight) dropped as well as possibly a few equipment downgrades. Right now JFK-CDG is 2 773's, 2 772's, and 1 A332 (daylight flight). EWR-CDG is 1 A332. I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one of the 772 routes get downgraded to an A330/A340 or at least one of the 773's to go to a 772/A330/A340. If I remember correctly, last year during the winter there were only 3 JFK-CDG flights (I think mostly A332's) in addition to the EWR flight; I don't remember the schedule during the later fall months. As for FRA, there are 2 744's and 1 A343 to JFK and 1 A333, 1 744 to EWR. I doubt there will be 3 744's from FRA into NYC during the winter. EWR will probably lose its 744 (likely replaced by another A330 or maybe A343) and JFK will probably lose at least one 744. I doubt a frequency will be dropped however, it will probably just be an equipment downgrade or two. If anybody actually knows any of the fall schedules, feel free to correct me as I'm guessing based on my memory of last year's schedules.

the only downgrade would be with the A332
you can't call it a downgrade with the A340 since they have the same number of seats as the 772, even more seats if the A340 is in 2 class config instead of 3 for the 772

I believe it is going up to 8X LHR-JFK soon too...Not to mention BA's plans to launch all business-class flights to New York...
