Who do you all think is the United States true flag carrier? Who do you believe deserves the priviledge of being called the USA's flag carrier? Is any airline currently have flag carrier as their designation?

We have no state owned airlines, and by definition, any airline registered as a USA airline is a USA flag carrier.

This isn't some kind of monarchy, and we don't anoint companies as the official this or that of the country.

Not true.

In the US, under FAA regs, you have Part 121 Domestic carriers (think Southwest, and others thay don't fly outside the USA), Part 121 Flag carriers (think AA, United, and others that have both domestic and foreign flights) and Part 121 Supplemental carriers (think non-sked operators who fly domestic and/or foreign flights). Just because an airline is registered as US airline doesn't automatically mean that they're a flag carrier.
