Hey all,

Just wondering, what are some of the routes all of you a.nuts want to take, and why?? Give us your "top-3" list, in rank-order. For me:

AA ORD-DME, 777-223/ER.
Always wanted to visit Russia, and have never been on an AA 777. I'd probably have to frame that boarding pass too: Chicago - Moscow  cloudnine

DL JFK-DKR-CPT, 767-332/ER.
South Africa, I hear, is a fantastic place to visit. Plus, it would look pretty sweet on the FlightMemory page  Wink

UA IAD-DXB, 777-222/ER.
The return flight DXB-IAD would be my first flight over 15 hours, at 15:14 blocktime.

Looks like you like the 777 and airlines from the US  Wink

I'd love to take the flight from YVR to SYD on the Air Canada 77L. I really do like the 77L and Air Canada is a great airline.

I have flown 499 different routes so far (that's what my flightmemory says) and there are still a few to come but at the moment I can only think of that flight to SYD.

If it ain't Boeing (or McDonnell Douglas), I am not going.

Isn't this done with a 773ER, or was it switched to 772LR??

I was in Canada in May 2008 and there it was the 77L. BUt maybe they changed it since then. Not sure.

JFK-RUH on SV will never happen sadly...
JFK-ATH on OA just for the experience

I would like to go on the JNB-DKR-JFK route on SAA, It would be nice to fly on a A346 for a change.

And then maybe later the same route on Delta, that would be awesome,I love 767's.  cloudnine

I'll be taking this run in Nov. I'll be sure to write a TR with as many pics as I can.

The schedule and my itinerary both list it as 77L (772LR), but that could change at any moment

IIRC, you better get a move on. Aren't they changing this to SIN-DME-EWR sometime soon?

I've been dreaming of a 777 flight for years. I had one (MH) in 2004 (BNE-KUL), but I'd been up 36 hours straight. Got myself seated, seatbelt fastened, yawned, stretched, and the next thing I know, the F/A is waking me up in KUL.

Unfortunately nobody yet flies that route. QF is starting SYD-EZE in Nov 08, it doesn't get quite as far south.

My top 4 are:
SYD-NAN-PPT(FJ)-PPT-IPC-SCL(LA)
CO's Island Hopper GUM-HNL
Air Catham WLG-CHT (Convair 580)
Macair BNE-ISA (via Birdsville)

OK. My wife thinks I'm crazy for wanting to do this but I can't be the only one. I don't have a specific route in mind but I want to fly around the world, airport to airport in one trip in 5-7 hr. flights. That is my dream. I love airports and take-offs/landings. Am I nuts or just passionate? Or a geek (what my wife says).

Realistic aims for the coming months;

Penzance to St Mary's/Tresco on the S-61, last year they did return fares for about £50 during the low season, so that would be a fun little trip.
Lands End to St Mary's in the BN Islander would also be good, but it's quite pricey.
North Devon (Not sure where) to Lundy Island is another aim - about £80 return on a Squirrel (IIRC).

Dreaming wildly...

THR-anywhere on the SAHA 707... why won't they give me a Visa  hissyfit
Dushanbe-Khorog on a Tajik Air Yak40 - supposed to be one of the best/most dangerous flights in the world.
Havana-Santa Domingo on the Il-62M with Cubana, plus a trip on their Yak42Ds to Cancun.
AMS-IAH with Privatair... one day when I win the Lottery  silly

Nuts?...passionate?...geek?.... who cares it would be a wonderful trip Big grin
I've actually wanted to do a similar thing, and get on a different airline, and a different aircraft type for each sector, and even alternate between different travel classes depending on the sectors. It would be brilliant...if not a little...nuts? But then again, most of my friends and family already think i'm a little nuts with my aviation interests anyway  Wink

Seriously....I'd love to get on one. And now it seems some airline in Iran now flies L-1011's on regular pax flights too. I don't suppose an American like me can get an Iranian visa all that easily though!!

A little from column A, a little from column B, haha. Just like the rest of us though!!

No doubt. Also try to hit the less-major airports. Instead of something like JFK, LHR, FRA,
