Looks like A.net now passed 2,000,000 pictures milestone, unfortunately because of the DB glitch, nobody seems paying attention to that; So which picture is the official 2,000,000th picture? Can that be identified positively now? or the DB is still not stable?

AIRLINERS.NET CREW PHOTO SCREENER
I think you will find that we are taking a subdued approach to our 2,000,000 photo. The reason; there have been a few FB posts from people who have their images hosted here, but no longer upload, who are waiting for us to make an announcement, at which point they will ask for their photos to be removed, to try and cause us embarrassment.
Can you imagine? In such a small hobby, that some are so narrow-minded that they would pull a selfish stunt like that?

That's quite stupid. Maybe I might throw a few images in the queue. It's not much - but maybe it'll make a positive point.

AIRLINERS.NET CREW COMMUNITY MANAGER
It is a great milestone for the site and global aviation community, we should extend our thanks to the crew and contributing photographers who have put so much time and effort into making this happen.
Our thanks to all who have made this possible and full credit where it is due to each and everyone who have shared so much with us on the site and made it what it is today.

2 mil pictures is definitely significant amount...remember just a couple of years ago we were passing the 1 million mark. My 0.25% contribution seems insignificant

Well just wait a week until you remove them, so that even after their removal, the number of photos remains above 2m.
Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been...

That is simply odd behavior. Some folks really need therapy.

Which is sad and pathetic.

Which is equally sad. Kind of hands them a 'victory', no?
IMHO, we should have made a big fuss and hang the consequences. If a few petty-minded people want to remove their photos, fine. Within a few days we'd be back over two million.

That is indeed very odd behavior and pathetic. To airliners.net, congratulations on your 2,000,000th photo added!!!
